Creston Public Art Connection
We will be having a Fundraiser at the Kunze Gallery December 3rd. at 6:30 pm. Cookie and beverage sales will be by donation and a portion of the Kunze Gallery commissions from the night will go to the Creston Valley Public Art Connection Society. It is their intention to select a local (Kootenay) artist to create a sculpture that would be displayed as public art in the Creston Valley. The money raised will help to purchase that sculpture from the artist.
About the CVPACS
The Creston Valley Public Art Connection Society (CVPACS) is a not-for-profit society registered under the Society Act of BC. The Society was formed in 2015, in collaboration with Castlegar Sculpture Walk, to promote and display public art from local and regional artists within the community and region. The Society is managed and directed by residents of the Creston Valley, including artists, local and regional government, and members of the public at large.
The primary mandate of CVPACS is:
a. To acquire and display art in the public domain
b. Add to the cultural assets of the Creston Valley
c. Benefit the cultural community of the Creston Valley by providing a forum for local artists to display their work.
The vision of the CVPACS is to work in collaboration with other regional communities to develop and promote opportunity within our communities to enhance the display of public art and to actively promote the displays as attractions for tourism.
CVPACS is funded by various government sources, available grants and private and corporate contributors.
